Evan Nicoll

Evan is a seasoned angel investor and logistics executive with a deep commitment to fostering entrepreneurship. As the Managing Partner of GWave Holdings, an angel syndicate to support Tulane-founded startups, Evan previously led investments in early-stage companies throughout the Greater New Orleans Area since 2017. In this role, Evan was responsible for overseeing all facets of the investment process, including sourcing, screening, conducting thorough due diligence, managing the back-office operations for each Special Purpose Vehicle, and ensuring compliance with strategic investment goals. His expertise spans from pre-seed to Series A funding stages.


In addition to his role at GWave Holdings, Evan was Vice President of Nicoll's Limousine & Shuttle Service Inc., continuing his family's legacy as the second-generation executive in the business. His firsthand experience in business operations and management provided him with a solid foundation to mentor and coach new entrepreneurs on overcoming operational challenges and achieving sustainable growth. His background also includes a significant tenure as the Director of Development at Tulane University’s A.B. Freeman School of Business, where he spearheaded fundraising efforts supporting scholarships, capital projects, endowments, and various university programs - having raised $10MM+ for the University.


Evan is actively involved in academia at Tulane University as an adjunct lecturer in leadership studies in the School of Liberal Arts SLAM program as well as Newcomb-Tulane College, teaching the Entrepreneurial Landscape of New Orleans along with Rob Lalka, Executive Director for the Albert Lepage Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation.


He holds an MBA and an undergraduate degree from Tulane’s A.B. Freeman School of Business, in addition to a Master of Sustainable Real Estate Development from the Tulane School of Architecture. Evan currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Young Leadership Council, previously acting as VP of Development. He is a member of GNO Inc.'s NextGen Council, and President of the Tulane Alumni Club of New Orleans.

The general partner of the Partnership is 1834 Ventures, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company (the “General Partner”). Louisiana Economic Development is a limited partner in the Partnership through Louisiana Economic Development Corporation. The Partnership, the General Partner, and the Louisiana Economic Development Corporation are separate legal entities. 1834 Ventures is not affiliated with Tulane University.
