1834 Ventures invests in early-stage companies in Pre-Seed through Series A rounds across a variety of industries. Review our criteria and process below or submit your company's information for the 1834 team.

Criteria and Process

1. Review Eligibility

Submit your information for the 1834 Ventures team to review your company's fit with our eligible investment criteria:

Scalable business with viable pathway to exit
Have or plan to have operations in Louisiana
Meet SSBCI program qualifications
At least one founder or C-level executive has "Tulane in their DNA"

2. Screening Meeting

If your company meets basic eligibility criteria and demonstrates potential to be a good portfolio fit, the 1834 Ventures will reach out to schedule a brief introduction/ screening meeting.

3. Diligence Decision

Following the screening meeting, the 1834 Ventures team will decide whether to continue into diligence with your company and communicate that decision as well next steps.

Once beginning diligence, we aim to have investment decisions

within 30-45 days.

4. Formal Diligence

If 1834 Ventures chooses to move forward with diligence on your company, we will request access to your data room and begin a review of all materials supplied. During this process, we might request additional information and for the leadership team to participate in 1-2 follow-up meetings with the team.

5. Investment Decision

After collecting all information from the company and completing a thorough analysis of the opportunity, the 1834 team will come to a preliminary investment decision, subject to any finalization of terms and certification from Louisiana Economic Development that the transaction is SSBCI compliant.

6. Execution + Funding

Upon finalization of terms and SSBCI-compliance certification, 1834 Ventures will work with your company to determine a timeline for execution of investment documents and funding of the investment. This might be subject to commitments from other investors.
